The data

We asked people to map their lived experience of Stokes Croft, its places and senses. 101 markers from 31 people.

Why places, not individual comments?

Comments are anonymous, and one voice on its own says little. The map shows where experiences connect in the same space, never a single entry.

How is a place made?

Two or more experiences that meet in one space, whether they agree or hold a tension. The theme that connection forms becomes a category, named in people's own words and read from the entries, never decided in advance.
