About this map
Part of Orlando Closs's MSc thesis in Metropolitan Analysis, Design & Engineering (Wageningen University & TU Delft). Exploring providing evidence for cultural heritage.
- The data
- We asked people to map their lived experience of Stokes Croft, its places and senses. 101 markers from 31 people.
- Why places, not individual comments?
- Comments are anonymous, and one voice on its own says little. The map shows where experiences connect in the same space, never a single entry.
- How is a place made?
- Two or more experiences that meet in one space, whether they agree or hold a tension. The theme that connection forms becomes a category, named in people's own words and read from the entries, never decided in advance.
